Our Continuing Education Seminars are approved by AARC for Eight (8) CRCE Credits in 2010. The cost is $80 pre-paid or $100 at the door. Partial credits are offered at $10 per hour prepaid only and you must call the office to register and prepay for partial credits. No partial credits available at the door. Class registration begins at 7:30am with classes starting at 8:00am. You will receive your certificate of completion at the end of the day. 2012 Lecture Guide
- Lecture 1 - Critical Care of the Adult Respiratory Patient - This program will supply you with information for a working knowledge of new modes of ventilation. You will review the current treatment for respiratory failure, become familiar with heart failure management, be given the steps involved in identifying sepsis, and the protocols for prevention of ventilator associated pneumonia or VAP. You will know the ventilator strategies used in acute lung injury and ARDS. You will be aware of complications with lung transplants and the factors involved in withdrawal from mechanical ventilation.
- Lecture 2 - Neonate and Pediatric Critical Care - This program will highlight neonatal care ethical questions, and factors regarding extremely low birth weight newborns. It will bring to light the diagnosis and treatment for neonatal sepsis. You will become aware of the components to management of respiratory distress syndrome in premature infants. You will have an understanding the therapeutic decisions for congenital pneumonia, management for childhood thoracic trauma, intensive care provided for the status asthmaticus patient, and the initial recognition and treatment for traumatic brain injuries in children.
- Lecture 3 - Sleep Disorders and Diseases - Become aware of the sleep disorders that effect the body's BMI and obesity. Recognize the factors in sleep that effect congestive heart failure. Review the cardiac dysrhythmias that are influenced in sleep disorders. Know how sleep disorders cause refractory hypertension. Recognize the factors of sleep disorders that affect Type 2 Diabetes. Know how sleep disorders can cause a stroke. Learn the factor of pulmonary hypertension as related to sleep disorders. Learn tool to education our patients and coworkers about the dangers of driving while sleepy.
